TURBO TRUCK VS NITROUS NOVA… HINTON STREET RACES

Just because it’s been a couple of years since we saw the lovely Tina Pierce on Street Outlaws, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been racing. In fact, she’s been to several no-prep shootouts and may have ever put her late model twin turbo S10 on the streets a couple of times.

In this video from our buddies at National No Prep Racing Association, Tina is lined up with a nitrous-hugging Nova on what looks to be the sketchiest track surface we’ve ever seen, and unfortunately things don’t go Pierce’s way. It’s easy to look at this video and say what we think caused her to have traction issues, but it looks like there are a couple of factors that definitely could have played a role. First and most obvious is the size of her rear tires. I’m not 100% sure, but I believe I saw big tires on the back of the S10 at Outlaw Armageddon, which means she is used to having a lot more rubber on the road than she does in this clip. Couple running small tires with a little bit of a subpar burnout and you definitely have a recipe for a lack of traction, and that is what seems to do Tina in during this race.

The Nova and the S10 appear to launch pretty much door-to-door, but as the turbos under the hood spool up, Pierce’s truck begins to make a lot more power and the small rear tires just can’t handle it, breaking free and letting the Nova, who is certainly on the edge of losing traction as well, streak toward the finish line and take the win. Look for Tina and her gorgeous S10 to be back in action at the next opportunity. She’s never been one to shy away form a challenge and is always down to race. Maybe next time, she can put a little more heat in the tires and make them grab just a little harder. That alone could be enough to make the difference in a win and a loss!
